Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, ginger, and garlic to create the marinade. Set aside 1/4 of the marinade for later use.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish, then pour the remaining marinade over them. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip off, and place the fillets skin-side up in the hot oil. Cook for approximately 4 minutes, discarding any unused marinade in the dish.
- Flip the salmon fillets, drizzle with the reserved marinade, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Continue cooking until the salmon flakes easily with a fork, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Flip the fillets one more time, remove the skin, and cook for an additional minute before serving.
